Mayfair Music is a small and independent label from Germany, specializing in Vinyl-Reissues of rare Psychedelic-, Progressive- and Folk-Records from all over the world, recorded within the 60s and 70s.

The artistic output in this era was immense and a lot of people firmly believe that this was the time when the most innovative and ambitious music has ever been made (and they are right). But a large number of these artists remain unknown because the responsible record labels only made a half-hearted attempt with a small press of records. The reasons for these decisions were endless but the result was the same: Due to the lack of support from their labels, most bands (some of them years ahead of their time or sometimes even better than the bands who got the fame) got disillusioned and disappeared; their LPs now well respected and difficult to find.

In order to give everyone a chance to hear this music, a small number of independent labels are constantly trying to preserve the works of these artists and Mayfair Music is a part of this endeavor for 5 years now.
